“
For RMH BC’s new teen lounge, now renamed “The Den”, we wanted to create the feeling of visiting a good friend’s basement rec room, where kids gather to chill, to sprawl, and to just be teens — a cozy home away from home.”

“
Let’s play! Our goal was to break down any barriers and let kids be kids which gave the parents time to take a second and breathe! As a design team we knew we needed to think a little differently and needed to get inside the children’s heads. That’s why we asked the children at Ronald McDonald House what they would like in a play space.
It was a reminder that we can learn so much from these little ones as we have a young boy’s favourite colour being magenta and a little girl’s favorite activity being playing with toy trucks!

“
Ronald McDonald House is such an important resource in our community, providing a home to families when they need it most. At Alair Homes, we know the value of home, and how important it is to have a place where you feel safe, secure, and cared for. It’s what we do, we build spaces to help enrich people’s lives. So to be able to help renovate the playroom felt especially meaningful to us and we were thrilled to take part.
As an added bonus, we don’t always get to build something this fun and playful. It was such a treat to work with the team and the various vendors who lent a hand, or resources, to make this project happen.
