Loot Toy Co. Partners with RMH BC

We’re excited to announce a unique Cause-Related Marketing partnership with a local business that started with a simple mission – making bath time a bonding experience between small kids and their parents.

Meet Bryan Krafchik, founder of Loot Toy Co. which produces fun, skin-friendly, and eco-aware bath products right here in Vancouver. When Bryan established Loot Toy Co. in 2016, little did he know that this mission-driven company would provide relief to so many more children than just those who were suffering from Eczema.

During bath time, Bryan’s then 4-year-old son, Elijah, often complained about his skin flaring up and itching due to Eczema. What Bryan hoped to be a bonding parent-child bath time experience, was often stressful. He realized that hard factory soaps used in kids’ bath products caused Elijah’s skin to become very sensitive, causing him discomfort. He knew he had to find a solution as they couldn’t continue this way.

That’s when Bryan’s mom sent them some bath bombs that, instead of causing flare-ups, made Elijah’s skin smooth and soft. So, Bryan started researching and discovering ingredients that they could use to create bath bombs for kids. Luckily his aunt in Toronto was a dermatologist who was able to provide advice and guidance along the way. What started as a basic formula, turned out to be an instant hit with not only Elijah but also his friends. Playtime sessions often led to bathtub fun whenever his friends came over.

Bryan quickly realized he had the beginning of a business that brought magic and delight to kids’ bath time and seemed to relieve and soothe sensitive, dry skin conditions. Within a few months, Loot Toy Company was up and running, hand-making bath bombs right here in Vancouver.

During the course of manufacturing and production, Bryan saw how bath bombs were naturally softening on the skin and that the added Epsom Salts were a great source of magnesium (North Americans, in general, are deficient in Magnesium). To make it more fun, he added cute sponge toys inside Loot’s first product, the Bath Squiggler. The more recent Galaxy Bombs also have Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, a natural bubbling agent that makes your skin soft after use.

There are a lot of kids that have very allergic, eczemic skin, so for them, any form of color or fragrance on their skin is an irritant and they never get to play with bath bombs. So, we thought: Why don’t we bring out one that has no color and no scent but uses the same bubble bath that is hypoallergenic? And that is how the Moon bath bomb was born.”

As Bryan’s business kicked off, the products started having a positive impact not only on the kids but also on their parents – especially dads who often took on the role of bathing young kids. Bath time should be fun when dads can relax with their kids after an exhausting day at work, but without the right product, it can turn into another exhausting evening with tired, angry, and grumpy kids.

As we celebrate the dads of RMH BC and dads everywhere, we are excited to embark and partner on this journey with Bryan and the team at Loot Toy Co. to further drive our mission of giving sick children the healing power of being together with family. Bryan’s products have also become a bathtime favorite for some of the kids here at RMH BC as it’s been found to soothe their skin after chemotherapy sessions. We just love exploring the synergy with mission-driven companies that engage with our local communities each and every day.
