Ronald McDonald House BC and Yukon and the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation are pleased to announce the opening of a Ronald McDonald Family Room in Kamloops.
A house within the hospital, the Ronald McDonald Family Room will keep families from Kamloops and BC’s Interior close to care and each other.
What is a Ronald McDonald Family Room?
A night’s rest. A shower. A hot meal. A load of laundry. All these things seem impossible to a parent whose child is seriously ill. Often, parents of hospitalized children cannot leave their child’s bedside to go home or to care for the rest of their family.
The Ronald McDonald Family Room will be a welcoming refuge for families with children admitted for treatment at Royal Inland Hospital. With sleeping areas, kitchen and laundry facilities, a play area, and a comfortable lounge with TV and internet access, the Family Room provides space for families to come together and rest.
Conveniently located inside the new Royal Inland Hospital expansion, the Ronald McDonald Family Room will ensures that families are always steps away from their child’s bedside.
We depend on community support to fund the Ronald McDonald Family Room and help keep families from Kamloops and surrounding communities close when it matters most.
