Their Child Needs Them. They Need You.

Their Child Needs Them. They Need You.

This spring, we’re recognizing the quiet strength of caregivers—the mothers, fathers, and loved ones who never leave their child’s side.

Your donation honours them and helps open two new Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in Kamloops and Prince George, providing rest, comfort, and connection when families need it most.

Thanks to Ted and Maryanne Kowalsky’s generous $100,000 gift, every dollar you give will be matched—doubling your impact.

Matched until Father’s Day. Give today and honour the caregivers who show up with love, every single day.

A Caregiver's Journey

When Neelam’s baby arrived early and unexpectedly, she didn’t leave the hospital for three months. With one son in the NICU and another at home, her heart was constantly split.

“We didn’t know what day it was,” she said. “We just needed to be there.” Without a place to rest, eat, or shower, the days blur into exhaustion and fear. That’s why Family Rooms are so critical, offering moments of relief, strength, and connection when everything else feels overwhelming.

Your gift helps fill these spaces with the comfort and care families need most.

The Power of a Family Room

Ronald McDonald Family Rooms transform hospital hallways into havens of comfort. Inside, caregivers find stocked kitchens, cozy rooms, clean showers, and caring community, all steps away from their child’s bedside.

When Navkirat’s baby arrived weighing just 690 grams, she was overwhelmed, alone in a new country. Facing six months in the NICU, she didn’t know how she’d get through it, until she found the Ronald McDonald Family Room.

“This place gave me everything I needed to keep going,” she says.

This spring, help build spaces that give caregivers the strength to keep going.

A LEGACY OF CARE

Ted and Maryanne Kowalsky know what it’s like to care for a sick child—making long drives to hospital appointments without a place to rest or recharge. When they heard a Ronald McDonald Family Room was being built at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, they were moved to act.

“Standing in that room under construction, we thought—this is exactly what we needed back then. A space like this lifts the financial burden and keeps families close when it matters most.” – Ted and Maryanne Kowalsky

With their $100,000 donation, they’re ensuring today’s families don’t face the same challenges alone. Their gift is a legacy—and an invitation. Through a matching campaign, you can help expand the circle of care.
