July 6th marked three years in our new House and 6,000 families served! To celebrate, we brought the best of Vancouver cuisine to RMH BC for our third annual Chef Challenge. There was something new and exciting in every kitchen for families, donors, and friends of the House to taste, paired with creative mocktails from expert mixologists.

Guests then voted for their favourite chef and mixologist duo, with this year’s People’s Choice Award going to Chef Clement Chan of Torafuku and Grant Sceney of the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel.

This year we also honoured philanthropist Gary Segal for leading our $32 million Capital Campaign to build a new House. As Campaign Chair for RMH BC, Gary was instrumental in securing many major gifts including a $13.375 million matching grant from the Government of BC, allowing us to expand from 13 bedrooms to 73 and serve thousands more families each year.

Fresh ingredients for the Chef Challenge were donated by our friends at Save-On-Foods.
